In September 2019, GoDaddy announced Websites + Marketing, the latest iteration of its website builder that helped answer the question “What do I do now?” Websites + Marketing’s machine learning moves customers forward by turning key business metrics into a customized action plan.
To help launch W+M, we hosted an event for our favorite people—our customers. We introduced them to our new CEO and let them meet entrepreneur Ayesha Curry. We had company experts on hand to provide tailored content for their website, including professional photography and copywriting. Workshops showed how to get the most out of W+M, and GoDaddy Guides helped with first steps and next steps.
The greeting gallery
The entry to the event was our chance to make a statement. I was specifically tasked with concepting an experience gallery that utilized our new brand elements, prepared guests for the experience to come, and tied into the event space.
I created the idea of an entryway where guests could explore customer stories. This experience featured larger-than-life portraits of small business owners and biographies of their businesses. The entryway also served as a media hall that housed filmed and photographic content for spokesperson and entrepreneur Ayesha Curry.
The event space design featured brightly-colored seating that aligned to new brand color standards, breakaway space for one-on-one time with GoDaddy Guides, and a five-screen stage that acted as the main focal point.
Meet the Guides
An event highlight was introducing new branding for our care and services team, better known as GoDaddy Guides. 30+ Guides were at the event to do what they do best—provide expert help and guidance, helping attendees with the product and small business questions.
